MC1568 is a class II (IIa) selective HDAC inhibitor with IC50 of 220 nM. MC-1568 exhibits tissue-selective inhibition between members of class II acetylases in vivo, particularly in skeletal muscle and the heart. MC 1568 arrests myogenesis through the stabilization of myocyte enhancer factor 2D (MEF2D)-HDAC3/4 complex. MC1568 displays no inhibition of class I HDAC activity or expression. [1][2]
